Today unfortunately, did not result in my students completing a challenge problem. It resulted in their finishing this one problem and a couple of practice problems. It seems to me that they are just slowing down more and more. I wish there was something I could do to get them to, well, process information faster.
I have spoken with other teachers in other departments, and it seems this years seniors are quite a bit more intellectually timid than previous years. Given their reluctance to take risks, I realize it is my job to see how I can push them to take more and more risks. I must make sure to be mindful that this process will take patience but firmness.
